What
is the PSemail Gateway?
The PSemail Gateway is
a separate software program that runs on one machine in your office that has access to the
Internet. It can check an unlimited number of POP mailboxes on a user-definable poll
schedule and route incoming e-mail to the appropriate PHONEslips user. Users are
automatically notified and the e-mail shows up in their PHONEslips inbox - just like phone
messages and memos. It also picks up any e-mail generated in PHONEslips waiting to go out
and sends them through SMTP.

e-mail boxes for the price of one
One of the great features of the PSemail
Gateway is that it supports 'catch-all' e-mail boxes. This allows an office to setup a
domain (ex. yourname.com) or a subdomain (ex. yourname.psemail.com) and have anything sent
to those domains routed to one e-mail box (ex. info@yourname.com, joe@yourname.com, etc).
Then when the PSemail Gateway retrieves those e-mails, it can route the incoming e-mail to
the correct PHONEslips user. This makes it possible to setup new users in the office in
seconds - all you have to do is add a new user in PHONEslips and from then on when an
e-mail is sent to the newuser@yourname.com, it automatically shows up in that person's
PHONEslips inbox.
Keep

The most common
way for computer viruses to travel these days is through e-mail. However, with the PSemail
Gateway, all e-mail must travel through one central location, so it's easy to configure
your anti-virus program to automatically scan all e-mails going in and out of your office.
This avoids the problem of having to make sure everyone in the office has the latest virus
signatures and is configured properly.
